The North Wall is a tidal defence wall which runs for several miles along the banks of the river Humber from Moody Lane in Grimsby along the coast to the offshore oil depot at Immingham. It has factories along one side. In June 2023, the site was the scene of public discord owing to access rights for the public along the wall.

It is owned by EP UK Investments Ltd, which is daughter company of EP Power Europe, which is 100% owned by Czech energy group EPH. EPH bought South Humber Bank power station from Centrica in June 2017.

The Newlincs EfW facility is an energy from waste facility which is located in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, England. The plant is operated by Cyclerval UK & TIRU Group under a PFI contract. The engineering of the facility is unusual as it consists of an oscillating kiln handling 56,000 tonnes of waste per year/7 tonnes per hour of waste. The facility is capable of generating 3.2 MW electricity.
