Kontinkangas is a district of Oulu, Finland. It is located to the east of the National road 4 and to the north of the National road 22 about two kilometers from the city centre. Its neighbouring districts are Kaukovainio, Raksila, Peltola and Oulunsuu.
Kontinkangas is primarily an employment area. There were only 660 people living in the area in 2014 while about 9000 employees worked in the district. Most of the major employers are in the healthcare and education industries: Oulu University Hospital, Oulu City Hospital, Faculty of Medicine of the University of Oulu, Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Oulu Vocational College and Technopolis Science Park.

Oulu University Hospital is a university hospital in Oulu, Finland. It is the northernmost of the five university hospitals in Finland.
The Oulu University Hospital is affiliated with the University of Oulu, and it is used as a teaching hospital by the Faculty of Medicine. The hospital was established in 1973. In 1963โ1972 the teaching hospital of the university was the Oulu provincial hospital. The hospital serves as the central hospital for Northern Ostrobothnia region. It was previously named as Oulu University Central Hospital.
The hospital is owned and operated by the Northern Ostrobothnia Hospital District which is a joint municipal authority responsible for production of specialized medical services in the region. It also owns and operates two other hospitals: Oulaskangas Hospital in Oulainen and Visala Hospital in Ylivieska. At the turn of the 1990s, the Oulunsuu hospital and Heikinharju hospital were attached to the Northern Ostrobothnia Hospital District and they became OYS Psychiatry.

OYS Psychiatry is the unit of psychiatry of the Oulu University Hospital, mainly located in the Peltola city district in Oulu, Finland. It provides psychiatric special health care, emergency- and crisis services, outpatient care, and other services for the member municipalities and the whole catchment area for highly specialized medical care of the Northern Ostrobothnia Hospital District, as well as for the insurance companies and judiciaries of the said district.
It is the most important psychiatric hospital in Northern Finland.

Oulu Swimming Pool was an indoor swimming pool in the Raksila neighbourhood in Oulu, Finland. It was the biggest of the three indoor swimming pools in Oulu and one of the biggest in Finland. The swimming pool designed by architect Risto Harju was completed in 1974.
The main pool was a 50-metre pool with eight lanes. In addition to the main pool, there were a 25-metre lap pool, children's pools, a pool with a water slide and an activity pool. The diving tower had platforms at ten, seven, five and three metres.
The pool came to national light in 2018, when an unknown man repeatedly defecated in the water.
The pool was permanently closed on 28 February 2025 and demolished in 2025. It will be replaced with a new building, due to open in 2029.
