Whitkirk is a suburb of east Leeds, England. It is situated between Cross Gates to the north, Austhorpe to the east, Killingbeck to the west, Colton to the south-east and Halton to the south-west. The Temple Newsam estate lies directly south of the area. It falls into the Temple Newsam ward of Leeds City Council and Leeds East parliamentary constituency.

In the past signwriters have been unsure as to the correct spelling of Cross Gates, with "Cross Gates" on the westbound platform and "Crossgates" on one sign on the eastbound platform. As of 2010, only the "Cross Gates" spelling is shown, and this is also the version used by National Rail Enquiries.

Austhorpe Hall is a house built in 1694 at Austhorpe, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is a grade II* listed building.
The house is of red brick with contrasting stone quoins, seven bays and three storeys, with a triangular pediment over the Baroque doorway. Pevsner describes it as "A remarkably early case of acceptance of the classical idiom". Linstrum notes that it was built in 'an unusually sophisticated design'.
