Airthrey Castle

Airthrey Castle is a historic building and estate which now forms part of the buildings and grounds of the University of Stirling in central Scotland. The 18th-century building with 19th-century additions occupies a beautiful setting in landscaped grounds in the southern edge of the Ochil Hills, above the Forth valley. It is located close to Bridge of Allan, two miles from the historic city of Stirling.

University of Stirling

The University of Stirling (abbreviated as Stir or Shruiglea, in post-nominals; Scottish Gaelic: Oilthigh Sruighlea) is a public university in Stirling, Scotland, founded by a royal charter in 1967. It is located in the Central Belt of Scotland, built within the walled Airthrey Castle estate. The university campus is approximately 360 acres (145 hectares) in size, incorporating the Stirling University Innovation Park and the Dementia Centre. The campus is located in the foothills of the Ochil Hills. In 2002, the University of Stirling and the landscape of the Airthrey Estate was designated by the International Council on Monuments and Sites as one of the UK's top 20 heritage sites of the 20th century. As of 2022, the university has 14,000 part-time and full-time students. Stirling has international degree programme partnerships in China with Hebei Normal University, Singapore with Singapore Institute of Management, and Oman. The university offers a MSc in Human Rights & Diplomacy, which is the only Human Rights and Diplomacy programme in the world taught in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.

Air3 Radio

Air3 Radio is the student radio station of the University of Stirling. Air3 Radio broadcasts a full schedule during normal semester dates (September - December and February - May) and a limited number of shows within holiday and exam periods. The station currently has shows running from 07:00 - 03:00, 7 days a week.

Logie Kirk

Logie Kirk is a Church of Scotland church near Stirling in central Scotland. It is located in a rural location at the foot of Dumyat at the western side of the Ochil Hills, east of Stirling and near Stirling University. It serves Cambuskenneth, Bridge of Allan, Causewayhead (eastern Stirling), and formerly the estate of Airthrey Castle (now the campus of Stirling University). The church lies on the B998 close to the junction with the A91 which runs from Stirling to Menstrie, between the Wallace Monument and Blairlogie.

Macrobert Arts Centre

Macrobert Arts Centre is a multi-arts venue located on the main campus of the University of Stirling, Scotland. The Arts Centre offers a varied programme of events and experiences – cinema, comedy, dance, exhibitions, family, get involved, music, opera and theatre – catering for audiences from across Stirling, the Forth Valley and beyond. It was originally opened in 1971 as Scotland's first purpose-built arts centre, the brainchild of the university's first principal, Tom Cottrell FRSE, who wanted appreciation of the arts to be at the heart of the university's cultural ethos. In October 2002 the Arts Centre re-opened following a period of refurbishment by Appleton Architects and Buro Happold. Macrobert Arts Centre is a registered charity under Scottish law. It receives key funding from Creative Scotland and the University of Stirling, while raising 70% of its required funds through ticket sales and donations, grants and sponsorship.
