St James' Park

St James' Park is a football stadium in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is the home of Newcastle United. With a seating capacity of 52,264, it is the 9th largest football stadium in England. St James' Park has been the home ground of Newcastle United since 1892 and has been used for football since 1880. Throughout its history, the desire for expansion has caused conflict with local residents and the local council. This has led to proposals to move at least twice in the late 1960s, and a controversial 1995 proposed move to nearby Leazes Park. Reluctance to move has led to the distinctive lop-sided appearance of the present-day stadium's asymmetrical stands. Besides club football, St James' Park has also been used for international football, at the 2012 Olympics, for the rugby league Magic Weekend, rugby union World Cup, Premiership and England Test matches, charity football events, rock concerts, and as a set for film and reality television.

Shearer's Bar

Shearer's Bar is the name of a sports bar owned by Newcastle United and forming part of St James' Park, the team's stadium in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It was named in honour of the club's all-time top scorer, Alan Shearer. The bar was renamed Nine in July 2013 by the club, who said that popularity of the venue had "dwindled". In March 2022 it was renamed back to Shearers by the new ownership. The bar was opened in December 2004 and became an important part of the features at St James' Park. It is designed for the supporters and usually hosts up to 1000 people on a match-day. Since it opened it has become a city attraction and has won awards, including "Best Bar None" Award in 2007. The bar was refurbished in response to competition from The Terrace bar next door.

St James Metro station

St James is a Tyne and Wear Metro station, serving St James' Park, Newcastle upon Tyne in Tyne and Wear, England. It joined the network as a terminus station on 14 November 1982, following the opening of the fourth phase of the network, between Tynemouth and St James via Wallsend.

Leazes Park

Leazes Park is an urban park in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Grade II listed, it is the city's oldest park, opened in 1873, and lies to the west of the city centre. The park contains a lake above the course of the Lort Burn. It is next to St James' Park and the Royal Victoria Infirmary. Leazes Park is separated from Spital Tongues by Castle Leazes, an area of common land similar to the Town Moor.
