Myrtle Grove is located in the statistical townships of Federal Point and Masonboro. The CDP is part of the Wilmington, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area. Myrtle Grove was first listed as a CDP at the 1980 United States census.

Tregembo Animal Park is a zoo in Wilmington, North Carolina. Founded as the Tote-Em-In Zoo in 1952 by George and June Tregembo, featuring animals and a collection of "oddities", the park was renamed the Tregembo Animal Park in 2004.
