Templeborough Power Station

Templeborough Power Station (also known as Templeborough biomass power plant) is a biomass power station situated in Templeborough on the River Don in Rotherham England. Operated by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, it opened in 2018 with an operating capacity of 44 megawatts. The biomass plant is being built on the site of a former steelworks and besides the plant itself, it consists of ancillary buildings such as a pelletiser plant to convert the biomass to pellets before it is burnt. The biomass is delivered to the site by Stobart company who will maintain a presence on the site and separately at Rotherham DB Cargo UK railway sidings.

Holmes railway station

Holmes railway station was a railway station in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. The station served the communities of Masbrough and Holmes and was situated on the former Sheffield and Rotherham Railway (S&R) line between Rotherham Westgate Station and Wincobank and Meadowhall Station. The station, which had two flanking platforms, opened with the line. With the building of the North Midland Railway through Rotherham Masborough, Holmes became the junction of the curve from this station to the Sheffield line. A second curve, allowing trains to travel from the Sheffield line to the North Midland facing south was opened in 1869. The station was closed in 1955. Nowadays a footbridge spans the two tracks almost above Holmes Junction which, via a British Rail – built chord line, known as "The Holmes Chord", now links the former S&R line to the former Great Central Railway line through Rotherham Central. The access line to Booth's scrapyard leaves the Holmes Chord shortly after the junction. This line was an original part of the S&R to Rotherham Westgate. Nearby was the factory of Isaac Dodds and Son who supplied the early locomotives for the S&R.

Millmoor

The Millmoor Ground, commonly known as Millmoor, is a football stadium in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. It was the home ground of Rotherham County between 1907 and 1925, and then its successor Rotherham United until 2008. The stadium has had no professional tenant since, but has been in use again for local youth football since 2016, and will be home to Doncaster Rovers Belles from August 2025. It has been described as "the spiritual home" of Rotherham United.

Masbrough

Masbrough is a suburb of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. It was named as the west of Rotherham by the middle of the Industrial Revolution, namely that part on the left bank of Don. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is in the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham, centred 0.5 miles (0.8 km) west of Rotherham town centre. Much of the suburb falls within the Rotherham West ward of Rotherham MBC.
