Azhakiyakavu Devi Temple is situated at Kallisseri in Chengannur taluk of Alappuzha district, Kerala, India. It is a Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Bhadrakali and is one of the 30 temples in Central Travancore area where the ancient Dravidian ritualistic art form of Padayani is performed annually. The temple is 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) from Chengannur Railway Station and Bus Stand respectively.

Kadavil Malika is a historic place in India, associated with the origin of the Maramon Convention. It is a house in Kallissery on the banks of River Pamba and was built by Unnittan Kathanar and his son Abraham Kathanar also known as Kadavil Achen, in the early 19th century.
By 1877, there were two factions in the Malankara Church, known as Methran Kakshi and Bava Kakshi. By a court verdict on 12 July 1889, Methran Kakshi lost all the properties. Just before the verdict was given, on 5 September 1888, 12 members of the Methran Kakshi formed a missionary group called "Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association." This Missionary Movement was started in the wake of the Reformation Movement pioneered by Abraham Malpan, often known as "the Martin Luther of the East". It marked the resurgence of the Ancient Church in Kerala and has given new life and inspiration for the total renewal and mission of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church.
The 12 founding members met at Kadavil Malika, the house of Chempakassseril Kadavil Mathuchen and Chempakasseril Kadavil Abraham.
These 12 members are considered to be the founding fathers of the Maramon convention.

The Thrichittatt Mahavishnu Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu, located in Chengannur, Alappuzha District, Kerala, South India. Constructed in the Kerala style of architecture, the temple is glorified in the Nalayira Divya Prabandham, by Nammalvar, one of the Sri Vaishnava saint-poets of the 8th century called the Alvars. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Krishna, an avatar of Vishnu, who is worshipped as Imayavarappan. Chengannur Mahadeva Temple is a prominent Hindu temple, dedicated to Shiva and located in the town of Chengannur in the South Indian state of Kerala. The temple is one of the major Shiva temples in Kerala, along with the Ettumanoor Mahadevar Temple, Kaduthruthy Mahadeva Temple, Vaikom Temple, Ernakulam Shiva Temple and Vadakkunnathan Temple. goddess Parvati is worshipped with equal importance.There are shrines for Ganesha, Dakshinamurti, Subrahmanya, Shasta, Krishna, Nilagriva, Sthalisha, Hanuman, Ganga, and serpent deities inside and outside the temple complex.
The temple celebrates a rare menstruation festival for parvathi, called Thripputhu, during which the temple is closed for three days for the irregular menstruation of the deity.
