Kelvingrove Park is a public park located on the River Kelvin in the West End of the city of Glasgow, Scotland, containing the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.

International Exhibition of Science, Art and Industry

The International Exhibition of Science, Art and Industry was the first of 4 international exhibitions held in Glasgow, Scotland, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It took place at Kelvingrove Park between May and November 1888. The main aim of the exhibition was to draw international attention to the city's achievements in applied sciences, industry and the arts during the Industrial Revolution. However, it was also hoped the Exhibition would raise enough money for a museum, art gallery and school of art in the city. The exhibition was opened by the Prince of Wales, as honorary president of the exhibition, on 8 May 1888. It was the greatest exhibition held outside London and the largest ever in Scotland during the 19th century.

CaVa Studios

Ca Va Studios or Ca Va Sound is a professional recording studio based in the West End of Glasgow, Scotland. CaVa has previously had bases both in Glasgow and Edinburgh. The studios began in 1974 started by founder Brian Young and his team. Since then have recorded some of the biggest names in both UK and international music scenes including John Martyn, Westlife, Belle and Sebastian, Billy Rankin, Paolo Nutini, Robbie Williams and Take That, The Script, Ed Sheeran, Snow Patrol, Avril Lavigne, Black Eyed Peas, Texas, Jessie J, The Proclaimers, Rage Against the Machine, Travis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, David Byrne, Mogwai, Eddi Reader and The Fall, amongst others. The studio hosts a Neve VR Legend mixing console and is the only studio in Scotland to have PrismSound audio converters. Ca Va Sound also owns Scotland's only professional independent mobile studio which hosts an SSL4000E 48 track console and Pro Tools. The studio takes its name from the former band of founder, Brian Young, "Ca Va". Brian was also a lecturer at Perth College of Further Education in Scotland for many years, and a Board of Management member at Stow College, Glasgow. A large recording studio with the Neve console, a smaller broadcast ISDN studio and the Ca Va Soundmobile.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum owned by Glasgow City Council is a major art gallery and museum in the Yorkhill area of Glasgow, Scotland, managed by Glasgow Museums. It is located in Kelvingrove Park in the West End of the city. To its north is the University of Glasgow and to its south is the Kelvin Hall. It is adjacent to Argyle Street previously known as Dumbarton Road. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is one of Scotland's most popular buildings and free visitor attractions. The art gallery and museum opened in 1901, as part of the Glasgow International Exhibition (1901) , and fully opened to the public from 1st October 1902. The museum collections include natural history, Egyptian antiquities, design, architecture, medieval arms and armoury, Scottish history and the history of Glasgow. The art collections are one of Europe’s great civic art collections, including Scottish, European, African, Asian and Oceanic fine and decorative arts. In 2006, Kelvingrove re-opened after a three-year, £27 million refurbishment and restoration, with the collections re-organised into two halves: Life and Expression. The Life galleries represent natural history, human history and prehistory. The Expression galleries include the fine art collections. The 22 galleries display over 8,000 objects. Notable exhibits include Salvador Dalí's Christ of St John of the Cross, Sir Roger the Asian elephant, the Avant armour, and paintings by the Glasgow Boys and the Scottish Colourists.

Kelvingrove, Glasgow

Kelvingrove is a neighbourhood in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. It is situated north of the River Clyde in the West End of the city, and directly borders Kelvingrove Park to the north and the grounds of the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum to the west. Its other boundaries are not precisely defined, but roughly correspond to Sauchiehall Street to the south opposite the Sandyford neighbourhood, and the Charing Cross area to the east.
