Gleniffer Braes ("brae" being the Scots language word for the slope or brow of a hill) is a short range of hills and parkland to the south of Paisley, Scotland, which form the boundary of Renfrewshire and North Ayrshire.

Paisley and Renfrewshire South is a constituency of the House of Commons, located in Renfrewshire, Scotland to the southwest of Glasgow. It elects one member of Parliament at least once every five years using the first-past-the-post system of voting and has been represented since 2024 by Johanna Baxter of Scottish Labour.

Foxbar

Foxbar is a district of Paisley, bordered by the Gleniffer Braes and Paisley town centre. Consisting mostly of residential areas, Foxbar has rapidly grown over the past century to be one of the largest housing areas in the town. The local authority (Renfrewshire Council) has invested significantly in the area, which nowadays boasts multiple community centres, public parks and social areas.

Gleniffer High School

Gleniffer High School is a Scottish state school located in Paisley for boys and girls aged 11 to 18. Since 1988, Gleniffer has been located in Paisley's Foxbar district, close to the Gleniffer Braes in the west coast of Scotland, south of Glasgow. The school serves children from the geographical areas of Foxbar, Ferguslie Glenburn and Lochfield. The school's pupils come from a mix of social and private housing. With a pupil population of 1,226 as of September 2012, Gleniffer is the third largest of Renfrewshire's 11 state high schools (The largest is Park Mains, with a roll of 1,360). As of 2024, Gleniffer High was ranked the 95th state school in Scotland, as measured by the percentage of students (43%) achieving five Higher passes. The school was inspected in 2011/2012. The Education Scotland report cited the school to be "very good" on 5 key quality indicators. It therefore did not achieve the top rank of "outstanding" for any of the inspection criterion. The Head Teacher, Mr David Nicholls, told the local press he was "absolutely delighted by how positive this report is"; thus fulfilling his self-stated key duty to "promote and protect the school ... [to] ... parents, the media and politicians".

Elderslie, Scotland

Elderslie (Scottish Gaelic: Achadh na Feàrna) is a village in the council area and historic county of Renfrewshire in west central Scotland. It chiefly serves as a commuter village, situated midway between the towns of Paisley and Johnstone, and lies 11 miles (18 km) west of Glasgow city centre. Elderslie is most famous as the assumed birthplace of Scottish hero Sir William Wallace, a knight born around 1270 who served as a military leader in the Wars of Scottish Independence before being captured and executed. There is a monument to him in the village, alongside what is believed to be his home.
