Wykebeck
Wykebeck is an area of east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England named after the Wyke Beck and situated between Gipton and Seacroft along Wykebeck Road. The area falls within the Gipton and Harehills ward of the Leeds City Council. The area is seldom referred to, instead people usually perceive Gipton to be West of the beck and Seacroft to be East of it. The area consists of several blocks of highrise council flats to the south. Wykebeck Valley Road runs through the area, from York Road (A64) to Foundry Lane. Wykebeck Valley walking way passes to the north of the area.

Killingbeck is a district of east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England named after the Killingbeck family, historic local landowners, and is situated between Seacroft to the north, Cross Gates and Whitkirk to the east, Gipton to the west, Halton Moor to the south, Halton to the south-east and Osmondthorpe to the south-west.
It sits in the Killingbeck & Seacroft ward of Leeds City Council and Leeds East parliamentary constituency.

Osmondthorpe railway station
Osmondthorpe was a railway station between Leeds and Cross Gates on the Leeds to York Line (part of the Cross Country Route). It was opened as Osmondthorpe Halt by the London and North Eastern Railway in September 1930 to serve new estates being built in the area. The station was of timber construction and was built without goods facilities. After May 1937, the word Halt was dropped from the station name.
The station was closed in March 1960.

Murder of Ann Maguire
On 28 April 2014, 61-year-old teacher Ann Maguire (5 April 1953 – 28 April 2014) was stabbed to death while teaching a Spanish lesson at Corpus Christi Catholic College in Halton Moor, Leeds, England. The perpetrator, William "Will" Cornick, who was 15 years old when he committed the murder, was sentenced to life with a minimum of 20 years at Leeds Crown Court on 3 November 2014.
