Crooklands is a hamlet in Westmorland and Furness, Cumbria, England, 4.5 miles (7.2 km) south of Kendal on the A65 road and the Lancaster Canal. Historically part of Westmorland, it is in the parish of Preston Richard but adjacent to Preston Patrick to the south east, the boundary roughly following Peasey Beck. The adjacent showfield of the Westmorland County Agricultural Society is the venue of the annual Westmorland County Show (first held 1799, moved to this site late 20th century), Country Fest (since 2009) and various other events. Crooklands is in the Levens and Crooklands ward which elects one councillor to the unitary authority of Westmorland and Furness. It is in the Morecambe and Lunesdale parliamentary constituency. Crooklands was previously the name of a ward which elected one councillor to South Lakeland district council. The population of this ward at the 2011 census was 2,146. In the 1870s Crooklands was described as "a hamlet in Preston-Richard township, Heversham parish". Preston Richard is now a separate parish from Heversham.

Crooklands Bridge, which carries the B6385 Milnthorpe road over the canal, was built c. 1818 and is grade II listed, as is the water mill at Milton, south west of Crooklands, sometimes described as being at Crooklands. The Crooklands Hotel, on the A590, is a mid 18th-century former farmhouse. Junction 36 of the M6 motorway, to the south east of the hamlet where the motorway connects to the A65 and the A590, is sometimes referred to as Crooklands Interchange.

Westmorland County Agricultural Society

The Westmorland County Agricultural Society (WCAS, established 1799) is a registered charity which supports agriculture and related activities in and around the former county of Westmorland, England. Its activities include the annual Westmorland County Show. It was previously known as the Westmorland and Kendal District Agricultural Society. The Society's objectives are: (A) To promote and improve agriculture, horticulture, allied industries, rural crafts, the breeding of livestock, forestry and conservation and in particular in the old county of Westmorland and those parts of adjoining counties which are within a fifty five mile radius of Lane Farm, Crooklands, Milnthorpe, Cumbria; (B) To promote such charitable purposes as the charity trustees of the Society shall think fit. The Society is based at Crooklands, Milnthorpe, Cumbria, where it has a permanent showground and buildings which are used for conferences and other functions.

Preston Patrick

Preston Patrick is a village and civil parish in Westmorland and Furness, Cumbria, England. It has junction 36 of the M6 motorway in its south west corner and extends north east on both sides of the motorway until just beyond the B2564 road. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 438, decreasing at the 2011 census to 426. It is set in the drumlin landscape south of Kendal. The neighbouring parishes are Old Hutton and Holmescales to the north, Lupton to the east, Beetham to the south and Preston Richard to the west. Preston Patrick has a parish council, the lowest tier of local government in England.

Preston Richard is a civil parish in Westmorland and Furness, Cumbria, England. It includes the village of Endmoor, and the hamlets of Crooklands, Birkrigg Park, Milton, Low Park, and Summerlands. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 1,307, decreasing slightly at the 2011 census to 1,305. There are 16 grade II listed buildings in the parish, including several milestones, bridges and a privy. In 1870-1872 it was described as "a township in Heversham parish" with a population of 504 and a gunpowder works. From 1974 to 2023 it was in South Lakeland district.
