Rose Bay Sea Wall

Rose Bay Sea Wall is a heritage-listed former Aboriginal land, farms and road reserve and now sea wall, road reserve and esplanade at New South Head Road, Rose Bay, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by Herbert E. Ross and built from 1924 to 1926 by Woollahra Municipal Council. It is also known as Rose Bay Sea Wall, Promenade and its setting. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 22 August 2014.

Salisbury Court

Salisbury Court is a heritage-listed former apartment building, residence, homestead, kitchen garden and garden and now residence at 1-7 Salisbury Road, Rose Bay in Sydney, Australia. The original cottage was designed by John Verge and built from 1834 to 1915. It is also known as Rose Bay Lodge; Rose Bay Cottage. The property is privately owned. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. Rose Bay Lodge contains the oldest surviving house in the Municipality of Woollahra.

Royal Motor Yacht Club of New South Wales

The Royal Motor Yacht Club of New South Wales is a club for motorboat owners located at 21 Wunulla Road, Point Piper. The club was founded in 1905 as the Motor Boat Club of New South Wales. At its foundation it had 92 members, all boat owners. Philip Mitchell was elected commodore, Dr George Reid vice-commodore and Frank Albert rear-commodore. George W. Whatmore, who had initiated the club's formation by writing to The Sydney Morning Herald, became the first secretary, with Fred Wiesener as treasurer. Members initially met at rooms at Circular Quay. In 1910 the current site was purchased and a clubhouse built. Officially opened by Lord Chelmsford, Governor of New South Wales, it was renamed Motor Yacht Club of New South Wales. In 1927 it was granted permission to use the prefix "Royal".

History

On 23 March 1970, Stannard Brothers commenced operating a service to Circular Quay. On the same date its Mosman to Double Bay service was rerouted to Rose Bay. The former is now operated by Sydney Ferries, while the latter which primarily operated to service private schools in the area and was being operated by Rosman Ferries ceased in December 2003 after the State Government withdrew funding. In September 2012, a new wharf opened to the east with the older wharf retained for other craft to use. This wharf is served by Emerald-class ferries.
