Stockton Riverside College

Stockton Riverside College is a further education college located in Thornaby-on-Tees, North Yorkshire, England. The college offers vocational courses, apprenticeship training, higher education and professional courses. It is part of the Education Training Collective, including Redcar and Cleveland College, Bede Sixth Form College, NETA Training and The Skills Academy. The college is a partner of the Teesside University College Partnership (TUCP).

Queen's Campus, Durham University

Queen's Campus is a site in Thornaby-on-Tees, in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees, owned by the University of Durham and now home to the Durham University International Study Centre. It was founded in 1992 as University College, Stockton (UCS), a joint venture with the University of Teesside. Teesside withdrew from the project in 1998, and the campus was renamed University of Durham, Stockton Campus (UDSC). In 2001 it was divided into two colleges, John Snow College and Stephenson College, and in 2002 renamed Queen's Campus to celebrate the golden jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. In 2016, the university announced that it would be moving all colleges and departments from the campus to Durham City beginning in 2017, and repurposing the campus as a new International Study Centre to prepare overseas students to study at Durham, run by Study Group. This was completed in 2019.

Wolfson Research Institute

The Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing is an interdisciplinary research centre within Durham University. It is based at the university's Queen's Campus in Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees. The institute's core staff comprises an Executive Director, Co-Directors, and ECR Director and an Institute Manager who handles the administration of the institute. The team are responsible for supporting both a fellowship and Early Career Researcher program that comprises Durham academics/researchers whose research focuses on interdisciplinary research in health and wellbeing as well as the application of health research on society. External Honorary Professors and Fellows are appointed on the basis of their seniority and collaboration with the institute. The institute's management board is composed of academic members of the university who represent their departments, ECR and College reps and is chaired by the Executive Director.

Infinity Bridge

The Infinity Bridge is a public pedestrian and cycle footbridge across the River Tees in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees in northern England. The bridge is situated one kilometre downriver of Stockton town centre, between the Princess of Wales Bridge and the Tees Barrage. It connects the Teesdale Business Park and the University of Durham's Queen's Campus in Thornaby-on-Tees on the south bank of the Tees with the Tees Valley Regeneration's £320 million North Shore development on the north bank. Built at a cost of £15 million with funding from Stockton Borough Council, English Partnerships and its successor body the Homes and Communities Agency, One NorthEast, and the European Regional Development Fund the bridge is a major part of the North Shore Redevelopment Project undertaken by Tees Valley Regeneration. The bridge had the project title North Shore Footbridge before being given its official name Infinity Bridge, chosen by a panel of representatives from the funding bodies, from a pool of names suggested by the public. The name derives from the infinity symbol ( ∞ {\displaystyle \infty } ) formed by the bridge and its reflection.

Borough of Stockton-on-Tees

The Borough of Stockton-on-Tees is a unitary authority area with borough status in County Durham and North Yorkshire, England. In 2021, it had a population of 196,600. The main settlement and namesake of the borough is Stockton-on-Tees, which lies on the north bank of the River Tees in County Durham, along with the towns of Billingham and Norton-on-Tees. The borough also includes the towns of Ingleby Barwick, Thornaby-on-Tees and Yarm, all south of the Tees, in North Yorkshire. Bridges spanning the River Tees include the Yarm Viaduct and the Tees Transporter Bridge. The borough is locally governed by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council and forms part of the Tees Valley together with the boroughs of Darlington, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Hartlepool. Teesside International Airport is partly within the borough.
