St John's Roman Catholic High School

St John's Roman Catholic High School is a secondary school in Dundee, Scotland. It was founded early in 1931 by the Marist Brothers, a religious congregation dedicated to education and under the patronage of the Virgin Mary. The school had eight houses named after abbeys in Scotland: Balmerino, Melrose, Jedburgh, Lindores, Paisley, Kelso, Iona and Dunkeld. In July 2011, the House system was streamlined to three: Dunkeld, Jedburgh, and Melrose. And then, as of August 2024, it has been extended to make Balmerino and Lindores houses again, with the former being for the Support for Learners department. As of 2023, the school has an enrolment of 1279 students, and although Catholic in outlook, welcomes all religious backgrounds.

Dundee Violet F.C.

Dundee Violet Football Club are a Scottish football club based in the city of Dundee. Members of the Scottish Junior Football Association, they currently play in the East Region North Division. Formed in 1883, their home ground is Glenesk Park and the club colours are royal blue. Up until the end of the 2005–06 season, they played in the Tayside Premier League of the Scottish Junior Football Association's Eastern Region. The club won the Scottish Junior Cup in 1928–29, defeating Denny Hibs 4–0 at Dens Park after a second replay. This was due to the original tie being protested as Violet played an ineligible player, then the first replay finishing in a 2–2 draw. In doing so, "the Pansies" became the first club from Tayside to win Junior football's national cup competition. During the summer of 2017, Violet agreed a partnership with local youth club Fairmuir to provide a pathway to adult football for Fairmuir's young players. Fairmuir's Under 19 team were renamed Fairmuir Violet and many of the side signed dual contracts with both clubs. As part of the partnership agreement, Fairmuir's Under 19s train with DVFC on a weekly basis, sharing coaching resources and facilities at Glenesk Park for cup games. In addition Fairmuir's Under 17s team also train with Violet on a monthly basis.

Lochee Harp F.C.

Lochee Harp Football Club are a Scottish Junior football club historically based in the Lochee area of the city of Dundee. Formed in 1904 and nicknamed "the Harp", they play at Lochee Community Sports Hub. The team moved into this new ground adjacent to the former home of Beechwood Park in late 2020. Their strip colours are green and white. Lochee Harp were formed among the Irish community in Lochee, and derive their history as an Irish Catholic football club. They were formed in much the same way as Hibernian, by local priests and church members to alleviate the boredom of the workers and provide some recreation. Dundee United have much the same origins, having been formed as Dundee Hibernian, and there was another Irish based club in the Lochee area as well, Lochee Emmet, named after the Irish patriot Robert Emmet. They were members of the Tayside Junior League, but are presently competing in the East region of Scottish junior football which they, along with all Tayside junior clubs became a part in 2002. Lochee Harp were formerly a hugely successful junior team, winning the Dundee Junior League in their first season of existence, but have found such success more hard to come by in recent years.
