Dinckley Brook

Dinckley Brook is a minor river of Lancashire, England. The stream rises at the confluence of several minor watercourses at Wheatley Farm close to Copster Green and flows northwards, through Cunliffe House Wood and under Dinckley Bridge (near to where it meets Park Brook). The brook continues past Brockhall, Great Wood and Bradyll, continuing past the Brockhall training base of Blackburn Rovers and through Mill Wood. Soon afterwards, Dinckley Brook falls into the River Ribble.

The Old Zoo

The Old Zoo is a modern country house in Brockhall Village, Lancashire, England, 6 miles (10 km) south-west of Clitheroe. It was finished in 2000 on the site of the old petting zoo of Brockhall Hospital. It was designed through a competition held by RIBA. The house was commissioned by property tycoon Gerald Hitman in 1997, and the winning design chosen out of over 120 entries was by Homa and Sima Farjadi. The New York Museum of Modern Art named The Old Zoo as one of 26 examples of the finest present-day house design worldwide in 1999. It has 15 acres (61,000 m2) of gardens. It was featured on the BBC Four program Living with the Future. John Tempest, former RIBA vice president, called it "the best contemporary house built in England since the 1930s" and Giles Worsley, former architecture editor of the Daily Telegraph called it "the most radical house in England".

Hurst Green, Lancashire

Hurst Green is a small village in the Ribble Valley district of Lancashire, England, connected in its history to the Jesuit school, Stonyhurst College. The village is 5 miles (8 km) from Longridge and 4 miles (6 km) from Clitheroe, and is close to the River Ribble, near its junction with the River Hodder.

Brockhall Village

Brockhall Village is a gated community in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire, England. The village is in the civil parish of Billington and Langho and is 7 miles (11 km) north of Blackburn. Developed during the 1990s by property entrepreneur Gerald Hitman, Brockhall Village occupies the site of a former mental hospital and is the home of the training facilities for Blackburn Rovers F.C. Homes on the estate are among the most expensive in Lancashire.

Dinckley

Dinckley is a small village and civil parish located in the Ribble Valley, in Lancashire, England. Owing to the limited extent of the population details from the Census 2011 are maintained within the civil parish of Billington and Langho. The parish is situated on the south side of the River Ribble, 6 miles (9.7 km) north of Blackburn. The northern boundary of the parish is formed by the River Ribble, and the eastern boundary by Park Brook and Dinckley Brook. The parish is part of the Langho ward, which is represented on Ribble Valley Borough Council by two councillors, both from the Conservative Party. Dinckley Ferry was a rowing boat which crossed the river connecting the village to Hurst Green. The ferry was replaced by a suspension bridge in the 1950s.
