Noctorum

Noctorum is a suburb of Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. Administratively it is within the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral as part of Claughton Ward. Noctorum is in the north east of the Wirral Peninsula, bounded by the Beechwood estate to the north, Claughton and Oxton to the east and south east, and the River Fender and M53 motorway to the west. Due to a redefining of post towns by the Royal Mail in 2003, Noctorum is identified as being within Prenton (which is in fact a geographically separate suburb of Birkenhead). However, this change was purely for postal services and Noctorum remains a part of Birkenhead. At the 2001 census the population of Noctorum was 4,990. For the 2011 census no population figures specific to Noctorum were available. However the total population of Claughton Ward, which includes Noctorum, was 14,705.

Oxton Cricket Club Ground

Townfield Lane is a cricket ground in Oxton, Merseyside (formerly in Cheshire). The first recorded match on the ground was in 1882 when Oxton played Huyton. The ground was first used by Cheshire in 1895 when they played Worcestershire in the Minor Counties Championship. Cheshire used the ground during a number of periods in the 20th century. They played 49 Minor Counties Championship matches, with the final Minor Counties Championship fixture held on the ground coming in 2004 against Devon. The ground has also held 2 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches; the last of which was between Cheshire and Lincolnshire in 1987. The ground has also hosted List-A matches. The first List-A match on the ground was between Cheshire and Yorkshire in the 1985 NatWest Trophy. Cheshire used the ground for a further List-A match in the 1986 NatWest Trophy against Surrey. The third and final List-A match played on the ground to date saw a combined Minor Counties team play Nottinghamshire in the 1989 Benson and Hedges Cup. In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home venue of Oxton Cricket Club who play in the Cheshire County Cricket League.

Birkenhead School is an independent, academically-selective, co-educational day school located in Oxton, Wirral, in North West England. The school offers educational opportunities for girls and boys from three months to eighteen years of age. Birkenhead School is a member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference, which is a UK-based association of leading independent schools.

St Saviour's Church is in Bidston Road, Oxton, Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Birkenhead, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the diocese of Chester. Its benefice is united with that of St Andrew, Noctorum. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.
