Sơn Trà is an urban district (quận) of Da Nang in the South Central Coast region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 112,196. The district covers an area of 60 km2 (23 sq mi). The district is bounded by ocean to the north and east, the Hàn River to the west, and Ngũ Hành Sơn district to the south.

Sơn Trà Mountain, also known as Monkey Mountain, is a mountain and peninsula range located on Sơn Trà Peninsula, in Sơn Trà district, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam, overlooking the Bay of Da Nang and the East Sea. Đà Nẵng Port's Tiên Sa Terminal is located at the base of the mountain's western face, as is nearby Tiên Sa Beach.
The site is notable as a natural reserve and tourism location to the nearby city. The site is a habitat for many endangered species notably the Red-shanked douc langur, with over 60% of the species located on the mountain range. In 1977 the site was designated a nationally protected forest following the takeover of the site by the newly unified government. Currently, the site is undergoing significant and in many cases illegal development, with plots of land illegally being transferred to developers by local governments for constructing hotels and venues.

The Hàn River) is a river entirely located in the city of Da Nang, Vietnam. It is formed at the confluence of the Cẩm Lệ and the Đò Toản, where they join at the tripoint of the Da Nang city wards Hòa Xuân, Ngũ Hành Sơn, and Hòa Cường. From that confluence, the Hàn River flows north for about 9.8 km, through the city center, under six bridges, before emptying into the Da Nang Bay.

The Thuận Phước Bridge is a suspension bridge that spans the mouth of the Han River in the port city Da Nang, Vietnam.
The four-lane, three-span, bridge is 1,850 meters long and 18 meters wide, and has a main span of 405 meters. Its two main towers are 80m in height. It is the longest suspension bridge in Vietnam, with total investment of nearly 1 trillion dong. The bridge was built with an estimated cost of VND 650 billion. Consulting firms from China, Cuba and Canada provided assistance.
The construction of the bridge, which began in 2003, was completed on 19 July 2009 when the Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung and many high-ranking government officials attended the inauguration ceremony.
